Radio Recommendations
My radio/CD player shot craps. Put in by the PO, I assume it was the cheapest thing he could get. He enlarge the dash cutout, so I have a 2-1/8 x 7-1/4 hole to fit into. I wasn't happy with it, had to wait for the volume to go up when it came on, and the cd skipped when I went over small bumps.
So, any recommendations that won't kill my budget?

Alpine, Pioneer, Sony, ect are all good CD players.
You can pick up a nice CD player for $100 these days....don't forget to check mail order places too.

go with an alpine player, a bit more for an entry level piece, but the build quality is the best in the indutry. I have sold/installed car audio for 10 years..

Circuit City out on west kellogg carry both sony and alpine at a resonable price. But I would recommend going with a sony as they have a great warranty and you can't beat the sound for the money. You can also try Best Buy next door, and for a few more dollars carry their warranty on the unit and with any problems they will usally just provide you with a replacement.

dont be tempted to just buy a regular pioneer cd player, make sure you get a premier player, they come with more features and a two year warranty. In my opinion i find Alpine decks to have a real bright and tinny sound to them, Kenwood and rockford decks have the highest return and repair decks in thier price range. The best all around cd player that Pioneer offfers is either the deh-350 (50 watts X4 front, rear and sub outs) or the deh 550mp (front, rear, sub outs and a steering wheel remote)
