Re: choke cable 66

I have not been able to find the choke for the '66 in new form anywhere, although, I'm bettin you could take a '66 knob and epoxy it onto another year cable

Re: choke cable 66

You can get a generic choke cable at almost any auto parts store, and attach whatever knob you want with JB Kwik epoxy. I done this since the mid 80's and on things like choke and vent cables the knob will never pull off. The generic parts store offerings are almost always cheaper than "restoration" parts.

If the original cable has a special flange at the dashboard and the housing is in good shape but the wire inside is bad, you can always clean and lube the jacket and simply install a new cable/shaft/knob assembly. With a few exceptions, most brands interchange.

Also, if you can scrounge up a few extra headlight switch bezels or wiper switch bezels, they come in handy when adding other switches or cables to the dash. After inserting the switch or cable thru the dash hole, just place the bezel against the dash before the attaching nut and it can almost pass for original.

Re: choke cable 66

Swap the knob to match the rest of your chrome knobs, so dash doesn't look mismatched...just my .02.
