Re: Info on NP205?

Why do you need to know what year it came out of? Its a 205 that was bolted to a SM465 trans. Do you have an application question?

Re: Info on NP205?

Maybe I just like to know what year it is. You know, for my own knowledge and stuff. I already knew it is was a NP205, and that it was off a SM465.

Re: Info on NP205?

I'm going to say that the serial number may be the date. It'd be a May 5th of 72. If you look at the shifter handle it does look like a pre 73 up shifter handle.

Re: Info on NP205?

That's kinda what I was thinking too, and was hoping someone could confirm that.

Re: Info on NP205?

The serial number on mine from a 75 says 2 2 73 so I'm not sure if thats what that means, but it also might not be the original. Also that shifter handle looks exactly like mine in my 77 and 75.

Re: Info on NP205?

Yeah, 1972. Being that, it should have a ten spline front output and use the short shift rails. If you are building it, I have some parts here that may be useful. I have a couple 30 spline front output shafts too.
