Radiator support bushings

Hey guys,

I'm about to order a body mount and bushing kit. My question is this...my chassis is a '69 GMC, the front clip is a '68 Chevy. Do I need to purchase a kit for the '67-'68, or the '69-'72 truck? Seems like I remember reading a post on here about the core support mounting points for the '67-'68 were "below" the top of the frame rail and the '69-'72 were level with the top of the frame rails. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Danny

Re: Radiator support bushings

My 68 is flush with the top of the frame, (the core support stand) making them the thinner set of bushings.

I believe the later ones are lower than the frame rail.

Re: Radiator support bushings

Does anybody know how tall the mounts between the core support and the frame mount brackets are supposed to be for the 67-68? Mine were so rotten they are worthless to measure.

On my 67 I opened up the hole size in the core support brackets on the frame to the larger diameter that the 69-72 C10's used so I could use the polyurethane mounts. I just haven't gotten the cab back on yet so I can align the front clip & see how things line up.

I will machine the poly core support bushings down in height to match the correct dimension for a 67-68 if needed so my front clip fits properly.
