Re: Dana 60 Ratios

Yes, its accurate. Page above is from the '71 Data Book, but it pretty much sums up the info for a K20. Now your truck per the '68 Longhorn specs. would have the 4.57 as base standard. With the M20/292 the ratio gets bumped to the 4.10. An optional ratio is not listed for that powertrain either. The 3.54s were only seen in BB trucks. I'd be suprised if yours has factory 3.54s (as built) with a M20/292. You stated "My truck says 3.54." Where does it state this? I'm thinking that your truck has had an axle/ratio swap somewhere along the line. Below is the '68 Powertrain Chart and a Dana axle ID chart.

Re: Dana 60 Ratios

I am happy to see these gear ratios, since I just picked up a '72 K20 D60 and D44 axle set.

Thanks for the info!

Re: Dana 60 Ratios

My impression was that C10/BBC trucks got a Dana rear rather than the corp unit. The D60 that I put in my C20 had a 3.54 tag on the cover. 46-13 tooth count was called out as well.

Re: Dana 60 Ratios

got 5 dana 60s here. 3 are in bigblock trucks all 3.54 ratio. a 4.10 ratio under a 70 horn with a 307/glide combo. and a 4.56 ratio under a c-20 with a 327/400 combo.
