SBC Top End Parts

I'm in the process of swapping the top end of my 350 over to a Vortec head setup. All of the parts listed (except the vintage intake) came out of my perfectly running truck within the last week and a half.

If you don't like the price, shoot me an offer, worst I can say is no. Buyer to pay actual shipping on all items.

Still Available
2. 1" Carb spacer - Can be used with Spread or Square bore carbs. $10

5. Edelbrock Tarantula Intake. Cool vintage intake. From what I read online, this is the predecessor of the Victor Jr intake. Perfect topper for a period build. $70

Sold Items:
1. Set of 882 Casting heads. Set up with screw in studs and guideplates. 2.02/1.60 valves. Come with a set of stamped roller tip rockers. SOLD
3. Edelbrock Performer intake. Part number 2101. In great used shape. Bolt on and run. SOLD
4. Edelbrock 600 cfm carb. Part number 1406. In good used shape, but is currently missing a piece of rod in the linkage between the throttle and choke flap. The rod can be sourced in a $10 kit from any Edelbrock supplier. SOLD LOCAL
6. SBC HEI distributor. Unsure of make. Has an Accel Supercoil on top of it. Can be seen in the above picture laying beside the Edelbrock Performer intake SOLD

Re: SBC Top End Parts

Being 100% honest here, I have zero idea how many miles are on the current setup. It was rebuilt before I bought it. I would guess less than 5k miles, as the truck really wasn't driveable due to issues with the brakes when I got it. I have put about 3k miles on it since I sorted out the brakes.

I will get some measurements and weights and see what shipping might run for you guys.

Re: SBC Top End Parts

Wow are those things heavy. Bathroom scale showed 48 lbs for one head. Figuring a few lbs worth of cardboard to package them safely.

50lbs package to both zips listed above was the same. Standard USPS 7day shipping is going to be around $27 per head.

I've had a caliper on the valves. Granted it was a cheapo I got from Northern Tool. Readings were 2.017 and 1.599.

Shipping looks to be the same $26-27 per head that the other two were quoted.

Re: SBC Top End Parts

Frednoah, looks like jjzepplin has made it very clear he needs these heads more than I. To avoid any foreseen problems on who to sale the heads to, I am pulling out. This is a great deal on a nice set of heads.

Re: SBC Top End Parts

71 Sleeper, I think $250 is fair, and if you want them you were first in line. Let me know.

If you choose to pass, I'll move on to jjzepplin.

Re: SBC Top End Parts

jjzepplin I am passing onto you. I was just going to set them up on the self for my next engine build, which is going to be a bit. This is a good deal, good luck. jjzepplin do you have a build thread going with your truck? Would like to check it out. Thinking of painting mine yellow.

Re: SBC Top End Parts

Thank you 71Sleeper. I don't have a build thread as I found this site a bit late. It has dana60 front 14 bolt rear (4.10's) 700r4 to a 203/205 splitter transfer case Tom Woods drive-shafts 406ci (moved forward two")40 gallon rear tank rs9000 ranchos serpentine system dual fans and a bunch of other stuff. Getting it going this year and painting it next year. Original color was yellow. Still don't know what to paint it yet.
