carb spacer 1" wood

Edlbrock 1" open wood spacer. ive got a 2 plane intake, did i screw up by ordering the open spacer instead of the divided, or did i? which one would be better on more torque/hp?

for torque and low end hp, do yourself a huge favor and get the divided spacer. i made the mistake of putting a 1" open spacer ona stock intake with a QJet. my low end power absolutely sucked. i took the spacer out, and it made a huge improvement.

I disagree. I used a spacer on mine and it was open with my divided plane intake and actually helped in bottom end and torque. Sure a large tunnel ram won't help any on lower RPM and torque but this is such a small "tunnel ram" that it just helps the fuel and O2 blend better and creates more power.

theres no real definitive answer about which style or height spacer will work best for a given motor....you really need to experiment w/ a few untill you find one that suits your needs.

i was in a class a year ago where we used aluminum blocks to build things, we had milling machines and lathes and such. was hoping to be able to build a carb spacer since i havent found anyone locally who carries them. but had not luck. if its wood and you had a buddy in woodtech you could have him build you one.
