Re: Interior Change

First I like stock trucks and I like white interiors. In fact my '99 SS Camaro is Dk.Blue/White leather. However I don't always agree that GM's color harmony is the last word. The interior looks good, it just needs to tie together. The white dash pad is bright, too bright for where I live due the sun. I'm thinking that if you went with a dark blue pad and painted the column/adapter to match. Painted the kick panels to match the dash metal and finished it with blue carpet. This would tie the colors and tone down the white a bit. I'm guessing visors and belts are white as well. If you don't want to change that much then match the column, kick panels and dash pad to the existing carpet. Either way the e brake needs the blackout treatment, trans. tunnel too. Hope this helps some.

My opinion is worth about 2 cents but I like the Blue pad a lot better

70cst, I think like the blue more than the white also, like Tim said the white is too bright. Looks like I have another project for the weekend.

Re: Interior Change

Mind you I cannot do photoshop type changes very well. But since openning my mouth I feel an obligation to help with the concept. I cannot tone the carpet to the dark level needed or add shadows but here you go.

Here is the dark blue I'm thinking (its the '69 shade) for the column and pad.

Re: Interior Change

I like the way the factory did it,too, and think it looked just fine in the first picture. I know GM used Sandalwood with Parchment,am very used to seeing trucks that way,and always felt white would be too much. So,I expected to be shocked with a big "yuck" when I saw your white pad...but I wasn't. I've seen guys do white pads and did not like it at all,but I think yours looks good. I drive a white truck and all that hood out in front of me in the bright sun never bothered me. Now on your truck my question is about the rest of it. If it's got a one notch off stock look (factory 2-tone and rallyes/changed steering wheel) then I think the white pad is ok. I'd be like you are now, though. Leaving them alone always works. Doing changes you can always end up looking at it later and wonder.

Re: Interior Change

I like the first pics blue dash pad. I would match the kick panels to the body color. The steering column might look better black.

Re: Interior Change

Looks great either way IMO !

Personally, I like the blue better. .. but the white looks great too. If the truck were two toned on the outside in blue / white I might choose white interior pieces? I guess it just depends on the truck.

Re: Interior Change

I think the problem is the seats and console, if you would like I will trade you the blue bench seat in my 69 for your buckets and console!

Actually I like the blue pad better. Very nice looking interior either way!

Re: Interior Change

I like the blue pad better. IMO or course, you don't want too much blue. I'd leave the kick panels and carpet black. Dark blue would clash. I'd probably also paint the column black. Hmm, I'd have to sit in it to get a better visual. GL

Re: Interior Change

since these colors are like my interior i would say wait till you put the blue carpet before you change the dash pad again, and then make your decision i like the white because its different than ever other blue one including mine. if you do remove the white one i think i can find a new home for it

Re: Interior Change

I had my 68 done in white also when I had my seat done. I think it stands out too much.

The truck is a dark aqua-green color and I had the seat done in a continuous white roll and pleat marine vinyl.

I think I want a dark olive pad on mine to match my armrests.

Re: Interior Change

Blue or black pad, carpet matches whatever color pad, , black column, and blackout any blue under the dash.

White pads work better against light colors, IMO.

Cool Re: Interior Change

Well I like to be differant than all the other trucks. I like the white even if it's a little bright.
Maybe a grey leather like mine.
If you ask me the white dash does tie it all together.
Seat's, console and dash all.
It's just like in your house you don't put all the blue in one room and white in another you mix them together to tie the house together.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
