Reproduction Red Dash Pads

Who has bought a red dash pad lately. I'd like to see exactly what shade of red is available. I'm hoping to find the bright red. Could anyone who has a red dash pad show a picture and let me know who you bought it from?...Thanks!

Well Tim, I can't get a picture of mine right now but I ordered mine from Manes Truck Parts. It's called Bright Red, and it is.... I like to call it Lipstick Red because it reminds me of the of the old song "Lipstick On Your Collar" by Connie Francis or the old saying "Lipstick On Your Dipstick". You only get that if someone else is checking your oil for you though..

Re: Reproduction Red Dash Pads

heres one i bought on ebay last year. behind it is my nos red visor from 67 68 trucks. you probably are looking for a dash in the color of the visors. it is much brighter than the pad.

Re: Reproduction Red Dash Pads

Good question. I'm looking for a supplier for dash pad, door panels, arm rests, seat covers, headliner and visors all in the same shade of bright red. So far, I have had zero luck.

Anyone had any luck buying all of these parts and they match even remotely close?

Buy all of the pieces you need and get yourself some SEM Flame Red Vinyl Paint #15373. I used it on a large padded dash that was originally Tan and it worked great. Here is a color chart for the SEM coatings.

Re: Reproduction Red Dash Pads

Thanks for the replies so far. I've seen some pads here and there and the red is off from the 67/68 bright red like Chewy showed. Leon, that's what I was figuring I'd end up having to do. Flame red sounds about right. For paint I was thinking GM flame red like was on my '90 Blazer. I have the visors. The seat and door panels will be roll & pleated so I need to find a close fabric there. Bill,I'd like to see what you have. I had thoughts to run down your way this weekend, but going to stay on my busy roll I figure. Either way,I'll get one from you even if I dye over it. Good thing that's spelled different cuz saying it might sound awful desperate

Re: Reproduction Red Dash Pads

I'm glad this topic came up, I'm in the same boat. I have oem visors and repop seat covers. I will need door panels, headliner?, and dash pad, to closely match the seat covers (which appear to be pretty close to the dash pad above).

I might try to dye the visors when I do the console.

Re: Reproduction Red Dash Pads

The factory pieces didn't always match, but mine's going to be a mild custom '67. So,I'm painting the interior sheet metal the upholstery color. That does not have to be an exact match...may want it a bit toned down, even. But,the fabric I want to match. I think I'll dye it all to match the visors, unless I find a vinyl in that color for the door panels & seat. Then,I may just get the dash pad covered with that if they can do it right. I have a Flaming River tilt that I want to paint the same as the upholstery, too, and maybe the metal parts of the buddy buckets.

Re: Reproduction Red Dash Pads

Yeah Bill, that one looks good. I wish I could have run down today, like I had thoughts to do all week. Oh well,it's a good thing I worked today where I did because something else came up for Monday & Tuesday while I was working. Hopefully I'm making enough to get one!
