Smile WTB: SWB Bed (Fleet or Step)

Like the post says, I would like to see what is out there and what I would need to make it happen. I have a 72 that the PO put an older style bed on. I am getting my truck ready for paint, and want to make sure I have the bed on it that I will be using. I am located in Atlanta, but can drive to you if you are on the outskirts...thanks!

I am open to partial trades as well.

Re: WTB: SWB Bed (Fleet or Step)

PS - it is ok if the bed as wood or metal...or nothing in the bed floor at all, as long as reflected in the asking price

Re: WTB: SWB Bed (Fleet or Step)

FYI - I spoke to a buddy that built my 68 shortbed from NOS sheet metal and built a truck that sold on a TV auction for $36,000.00 using a aftermarket bed. He is building another truck and he purchased a rust free original paint California bed. He told me that any future build would get the aftermarket parts as even though the Cal bed was original & nice the amount of prep work was not worth it. I think I agree with him. Good luck.

Wow! That is a sweet bed, Brad...is there a way I could convince you to get that for me, and I pay or shipping or come get it?

I just called and left a message. If he still has it I'm sure we could work something out
Does look like a real nice piece....

Re: WTB: SWB Bed (Fleet or Step)

Guy just called back....it's a one piece fiberglass bed with the topper cover and tailgate. If you were looking for something like that it would probably be a good deal. If you ARE looking for something like that let me know and I'll go look at it, we could probably buy this thing on the cheap.

Re: WTB: SWB Bed (Fleet or Step)

If by fiberglass you mean fragile, I'd like to know if it is worth it...but on the other hand if it can be had for less, that'd be great! Thanks, sir!

The fleet looks good. I bet you could practically get that truck for nothing.
