Re: new kid with a 70 gmc
to the best chevy/ GMC forum on the net. Looks like a neat project! It's hard to tell from the photo but what kind of bed will you be running with?
Good luck with the build! Keith |

Re: new kid with a 70 gmc
actually the bed sides are there just not assembled and there is no wood for the floor right now. it is a long box although I would like to make it into a shorty.

Re: new kid with a 70 gmc
yeah not going to make it a shorty now, we got started on the box sides this weekend, we have the pass side down to the metal, lots of dents to contend with but very little rust which is good.
also picked up a 327 for it that was rebuilt not too long ago, just need a tranny now. Not sure if I want to do a turbo 400 or a 700r4 though. any suggestions? |

Re: new kid with a 70 gmc
700R4 may cost more in the begining but will get better gas mileage due to the overdrive and a teendriver needs all the help they can. My daugther she is 20 got a car I built for her in jan [09 cobalt] and she has put almost 14,000 miles on it since then. Welcome to the site

That is very cool. Your son is one lucky kid to have a project truck like this to work on with his dad!
Looking forward to this! Are you going to be doing a build thread? I'm sure a lot of us would love to follow it. |
