6-lug disks?
Anyone ever re-drilled a 5-lug disk rotor to the six lug pattern? I took a 5-lug rotor from a 72 with no wheel studs in it and sized it up to a 6 lug wheel today. If the holes were welded up it looks like the 6 lug pattern would fit. I was just wondering if this was do-able. Any of you guys tried this before? I would like to stay with the 6 lug wheels on my 66 and just thought this might be a cheap alternative to aftermarket rotors as i already have all the parts from a donor truck.

What wheels are you running?
I think there is a clearance issue with the original stock 15 inch steel wheels in six lug if you go to discs. I think the caliper hits the inside of the wheel or something. http://www.earlyclassic.com/ sells parts for 6 lug disc swaps tho'. -W |

I am about to swap from 6lug disc brakes to 5 lug. I have a classic performance kit on the truck with zero miles. Send me a PM and maybe I can help you out reasonable.

I've got 6 lug disc on my '66 and it takes a 1/4" spacer for the original wheels to clear the calipers.

Buying rotors that fit is cheaper than paying someone to weld up a used set and re-drill. In my opinion, anyway, because everytime you needed one, you'd be going thru the same process.

Drilling your own holes may sound cheap but if they are not exact your tires will never be balenced.
