Re: If you like em farm fresh, your gonna like this!!

OK, mpre pictures for everyone.
Thanks for all the great compliments.
So looking it over I am amazed that only 1 heater hose has been changed and also the radiator cap. The guy did put 134a in the system and it cooled but leaked out right away b/c one of the hoses has been spliced and shows signs of a leak. Easy fix there. The muffler is the original. I cant believe it but it is. Its rotted out at the bottom but I would expect that.
Also the driver side manifold leaks under the heat shield and the radio does not come on but I am looking into that.
Enjoy the pictures!

Re: If you like em farm fresh, your gonna like this!!

I wish I could give the racks away as I will never use them. It has a grain gate and or a cattle gate (interchangable) and as you can see the side rails hinge up for carrying livestock or fold down as pictured for grain.
With a 131" wheelbase I thought about trying to find a longhorn bed to make it a dually pick up but think I will keep it a flat bed.
Fun stuff!

"....but I think I will keep it a flatbed."

That's my vote too! No offense to the pickups, but us flatbed drivers are in a minority! We have to hold up our end of the spectrum!

Re: If you like em farm fresh, your gonna like this!!

I am having fun with this already. As you can imagine it gets all the looks.
I was able to get the gates off of it last night, dont think they have been off since 72.... I wiped some stuff off and took it for a quick ride. What a difference w/o the gates. I am guessing they totaled up to 700 lbs. of metal or more.

Get some super single rear rims/tires and go play Fast and Fureist! There is a 63 version of your truck on my grammas farm. Too bad it doesn't accually belong to gramma, or I would probably have it.

Re: If you like em farm fresh, your gonna like this!!

Much better without the racks. The only reason I'd put them back on is to haul them to the scrap yard.

Re: If you like em farm fresh, your gonna like this!!

I dont know Manimal...The weather out there is awesome.
Someone said load em and haul em to the scrap yard and I think that is exactly what will happen with the gates.
Updates will probably be minor. Clean it all up, pump the 134 out of the a/c system, replace the spliced hose and go back to 12. Maybe a set of outer rockers, fix the rust on the cab corners and touch up some paint.
Wheels and tires....Oh man, wouldnt that be cool. I thought about trying to find a clean set of 70's or 80's dually rims and paint them black like the original and then paint a silver trim along the o/s edge to make them look like splits. A muffler, a manifold and do something with the seat plus get all the lights on the flatbed working and thatll about do it.
Now I just need money and time....LOL!
