v8 swap q's

hi all, im helping a buddy of mine put a sbc in a 65 chev 1/2 ton two wheel drive factory 292 straight six this weekend. my question is what modifications needs to be made to the mounts? will the factory towers work or do i need to swap those aswell please let me know thanks fatkid

From what I've read previously, the passenger side tower will need to be replaced. It seems the V8 and 230/250 towers are the same, but the 292 bracket is mounted either farther forward or to the rear on the frame and only fits the 292.

Thank ya, I was just reading that myself. Looks like I'm on the hunt for a p side mount tomorrow.

Just a FYI, The '63-'66 230/250 and small block motor mount brackets are the same as the '67-'72 230/250 brackets.
