operating electric cooling fans
I am making progress on my 5.3 conversion, but I am looking for ideas on how to control my electric cooling fans. What are most people using to turn the fans on with?

I think most people use the PCM. Depends on what year your engine and harness is, but the newer ones are already set up to run them. If yours is older, it's just a matter of adding a pin to the PCM connector and having them enabled in the tune.

On my gen I (383), I run Painless controls , to switch the 2- 14" fans. I dont see that as a problem, & plan to run that way with the 5.3 swap that I am planning. You might be ahead of the game , with computer controls....but if you are set up properly, I doubt that you will need them on the fans

I just run mine with a pair of switches because once your over 40-45 miles per hour you don't need them unless your running the AC. In which case I would go with the temp sensor style if your not using a computer.
