Apologies for a possibly insignificant post, but I'm really happy. Last night I went out to start up my truck, and it ran really rough, wouldn't start easily, and died often. All signs pointed to the carburetor, as my idler screws on the front of the Edelbrock would not increase or decrease idle, and my choke whether open or closed would not effect idle. This morning I pulled my fuel filter to find a large chunk of rubber (fuel line) pressed against the fuel filter screen. I was sure the carburetor was clogged with grime and dirt, so i went and purchased a master rebuild kit for it, along with a complete tune up kit. After finishing the distributor, spark plug wires, and spark plugs, i fired the motor up and wouldnt you know it, it ran GREAT! However, with this great news i found that 6 of the 8 spark plugs have oil on them, which I'm assuming was causing the really rough running motor. I guess with these fixed problems, I've located more problems, as now I have to replace all the valve seals, and clean my fuel tank out really well. Progress, I suppose!
