Swap 350 to 230

I plan to removed the reman 350 from my 64 Chevy and install a 230 6 cylinder in it's place. Truck has the original powerglide trans that I plan to keep. My question is, when installing the 230 and PG back in the truck, shouldn't the trans and motor mounts be the same without changing anything.

as long as the trans crossmember is in the orig place. you really didn't say whether or not that the p/g was behind the 350. otherwise it should just be a stock installation

Yea, the PG is behind the 350 and is original to the truck and so is the cross member.

all brackets are the same exept the 6 takes an extra mount on the motor itself to make up the diffrence of the width of the v8. if you need pics let me know.

It looks like the mounts on the engine are different, but the mounts on the frame and crossmember are the same. Main thing is the length, just did not what to deal with changing trans mounts and changing driveshaft lengths etc. Thanks

Re: Swap 350 to 230

With the '63-'66 trucks, the 230/250 I6 and the small blocks use the same motor mount brackets, and in the same location. The motor mounts themselves are also the same. However as chopper john said, there is an additional bracket for the I6's that bolts to the block, then the motor mount bolts to that.
