more pics of Bagged 1966 chevy trucks!!!

Would like to see pics and placement of front bags, brackets used or made with and or with out drop spindles. I have already installed bags in the rear and now getting ready to work on the front i have stock spindles it looks like just take the spring out and make some brackets out of flat stock to cover the spring pockets also do u cut factory bump stops off lower control arm to get lower if anyone has info and or some pics that would help me out thank you.

Here is my 65. The bags replaced the coils. All I did was weld in a bag mount plate for the top and there ya go. No drop spindles and I could almost lay the frame.

Your truck should be the same.

Re: more pics of Bagged 1966 chevy trucks!!!

I have bolt in plates and bag cups up front and just bolted the bags to the trailing arms in the rear where the springs were and lowering blocks. i raised the bed wood up a 1 1/2 so the pumpkin on the rear end wouldnt hit the bed wood and would allow the c-notch to go all the way down.......i dont like how the front is so high when aired out so im going to cup the lower a-arms to mount the bags into the arm instead of on top the arm.......on the rear i just used some bag plates and no stand offs brackets, i just flipped the bags upside down and offset them on the trailing arms a little so i didnt have to drill the frame for the bag air fitting.... I saw how "61 FL Apache" mounted his into the lower spring hole but think that is really sketchy because the bag isnt supposed to rub anything!! Even tho "apache" said never had a problem that way...most bags have internal bump stops so if the air out before metal hits metal you should be fine, the rear c-notch comes with the bumpstops pictured below and i bought a set for the front when i cup the front arms(right now the front bags when aired out there is no need for separate bumpstops ...Ialso flipped the drivline carrier bearing mount to correct the driveline angle..After i cup the front a-arms i should be pretty low and used just the basic c-notch that bolts in and basic bag plates up front , nothing fancey or to expensive!

The rear was notched and the bags were half way up the trailing arms. All bump stops were removed.

The rears were installed when I got it, I did the fronts.

Re: more pics of Bagged 1966 chevy trucks!!!

Sorry no pics , but on mine I used bump stops but did cut and shut them so they work as steering bumps as usual but clear the bags when aired out. On the rear I just shave the rubber bump stops so when aired out my exhaust can still clear brake lines. Wasn,t going for super low as this is my daily.

2.5 drop spindles and redid the lower control arms so the bags would set down in there to allow it to go all the way down

Re: more pics of Bagged 1966 chevy trucks!!!

Front 2.5" spindles, raised 2.5" crossmember, cupped lower A arms, bagged. Rear is big notch 2" blocks and bags on stock traiiling arms with a custom rear crossmember to lay flat.
Not all the way aired out in the rear in pics.
