Bought me a '63 Burb

The 62 FrankenBurb I thought I had bought 2 weeks ago the seller backed out on me.

I found another 4x4 '63 on e-bay a few days ago. It is in a lot worse shape than the 62 but it was 1/3 the price. I don't have any pics yet. But if you want search e-bay, it is white with some brown spots. It's currently in Wa state.

Owner says it runs, the 4x4 works, he's driven it some. The rest will be up to me. He did says the brakes had to be pumped up to work. So I guess I'll be doing a brake job 1st thing. Sure hope that's like riding a bike. I haven't done standard brakes in 30 years. It needs at least 1 new fender, might as well do both I guess.

Pics when I get em.

Re: Bought me a '63 Burb

Nice buy. So how does someone in WVA end up buying a rig from WA, all the way across the country? Based on the photo it looks like Eastern WA..

Re: Bought me a '63 Burb

Congrats on the new purchase.

That's unfortunate the other seller backed out of your deal.

This '63 looks pretty good to me. It does have the Custom trim on the sides and around the windshield, which is a bonus. It also has the tailgate and hatch which is more desireable. What does it have for an engine and trans?

Do you have the transport arrainged yet?

I agree, that does look like Eastern Washington.

Re: Bought me a '63 Burb

Wenatchee, WA, wherever that is in the state.

No, I don't have shipping arranged yet. Any suggestions? E-bay has some suggestions and I figured I might try googling some more.

ETA, E-bay says shipping btwn 1,600 - 2,800. Oh well.

AJ, is that yours under your handle/name? I really like it. Mine will get a small lift and probably some 35s.

Re: Bought me a '63 Burb

for transport across the country, this guy on the hamb , might be a good deal:
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=614568
you could also look around on the hamb for other haulers...
I think someone that specializes in classics would be a better choice.

Re: Bought me a '63 Burb

What most people don't know about WA is that it is split by the Cascades resulting in two very different climates. The west side (seattle) is very wet with comfortable summers while the east side is desert. Wenatchee is farm country on the east side and any vehicle from that side is usually in much better shape. We dont salt our roads here either...Again, nice find.

I lived in central Calif., Fresno, most of my life. It too is hot desert farm country. A reason so many nice trucks come out of there. Again no salt on the roads.
