Re: column to trans linkage ?
I've swapped turbo 350 and 400 trans back and forth in my 70 and the only thing I needed to do on the shift linkage was put the piece that bolts to the shaft on the trans on the trans that I was putting in the truck so it matched the end of the cross shaft

Re: column to trans linkage ?
I recently changed my shift linkage to a shift arm kit from Kugel Komponents. Sorry I dont have any pictues and I couldnt find a picture that was easily copied on the internet, but I am really happy with the kit. Its around 50.00 shipped(all stainless). It took all the slop out of my shifter which, had the stock set-up. Look it up!

Re: column to trans linkage ?
I have the regular automatic 69 column in my 67 chevy truck and am using the CPP kit because my Original Linkage rot was to short. here is the kit I am using now.

Re: column to trans linkage ?
Sorry, went out to dinner. My column is pushed back also. My motor and trans. is moved back an 1" from the factory bb position which would make it farther away from the steering column. With that said I measured from pivot point to pivot point and came up with 23.5". I ordered the long kit of course and it worked perfectly with room to spare. By the way you can bend the rod if you need work around obstacles(mine installed with no issues).
