Re: Grill decal application

I agree, should be easy...but some of the easiest jobs can be the worse pain in the rear. Just figured if I posted for tips I could save myself some headache. I plan to do Sunday. I wana do a final polish on the grill before I apply the letters. Did you find the shop I told you about with the 60-62 letters?

Does anybody know if there are red letters available for a 64-66 grill?

Re: Grill decal application

slow build...if you look back at post 8 , I gave 1bad62prostreet this link to an ebay store. He can cut them from any color you want. I belive he has around 50 colors to choose from. He cost more than the outfits that just carry black and white, but a few bucks more to get the color you want would be well worth it, plus makes it a litttle different than the rest of the crowd. I got lucky because I wanted black.

Re: Grill decal application

I painted my tailgate letters to the color I wanted. Worked great.

Re: Grill decal application

Install went pretty smooth. Had to do some trimming and some of the letters weren't 100% on filling in the grill spaces. But overall, im pleased with the work and the finish. Posted more pics on my build thread and my thread on polishing the 63 grill. But heres a few, before..during...and after.

Re: Grill decal application

I cant speak for all of them, but mine were black and were as hard to remove as the anodization. Also...there has been alot of discussion of the 63 grills having a black trim ring around the outer portion of the bezel. Both my steel and my aluminum 63 grills didnt have them, although they can be seen in some of my 63 literature.

Re: Grill decal application

Let me knowhow you like the tailgate letters. I have not used this distributor before, so I am interested in the quality of fit and finish. If your satisfied with the tailgate decals, I plan to order also.
