Ive got a 79 c10 truck with a 5.7 V8 engine, its a auto and im trying to work out what weight the engine is so that I can get the correct stand for my rebuild, also how much with the gearbox attached???

Any help would be most appreciated...

Re: Engine weight!

It isnt much more for a 1000 lb stand that has the 4 wheels. It is much better and stable than the 3 wheel, 750 lb stand. ALSO, dont forget to get good strong grade bolts to attach it with. Weak bolts will drop her in the floor.

Re: Engine weight!

cheers for the info and advice guys, much appreciated, I think I will buy the stand that holds alot more than I think I need just to be safe, and yes the best bolts that money can buy will be holding it up!!
