S10 mock up

O.K. s10 guys, I am starting to line up cab and fenders. I have read to start with 4x4 blocks. If I use the s10 bushings on the body mounts how would I adjust for the height? Has everyone used some kind of bushing? Any pictures would be great. 53 3100/s10

i believe the stock s10 bushing and pad adds 1.5inches to the height. so you can mount higher with 4x4 plus bushings or subtract 1.5 inches to get your final mount height to go lower. I'm still in mock up stage myself so someone that has it done may tell you differently. so far im going with 3inches total off frame which puts me just above stock s10 gas tank.

I used energy suspension universal bushings not to thick like the s-10's and a lot cheaper for a new set and not a big cup like the s10's. I won't know till I get it one the road if I made the right choice or not.

For S10 bushings, I usually see 3" mounts used since the bushings are 1.5-2" tall so a total height of 5" which is required. Will be doing one that way fairly soon, when it gets into the shop. Get some 4x4s and use them under the cab..they should be pretty close to the height you need, so you just align everything from there then put the mounts on.

Mock up the cab and body where you want it then build the mounts to it. You can fine tune it a little with big washers or something like that later if need be.
