Moving a front seat

I'm thinking I'm going to need to move the front seat back some on my 63 burb. I'm 6'6" and have had issues with these pick-ups in the past. I'm thinking the burb is going to be as well.

Will it be feasable to unbolt the seat, drill new holes and rebolt back a few inches? Are the seat bolts into the frame or just the sheet metal or???

Thanks.

Re: Moving a front seat

I don't see a problem with that , espically on a burb. the original location just has a 4 inch square pad made out of some heavy guage metal, with some captive nuts welded to it, this piece is spot welded to the underside of the floor. only problem that might arise is the rear bolts might line up with the center body cross brace. if that happens you should still be able to make it work, just might have to drill another access hole in the body brace.

Might be a good time to lower the seat. Buddy of mine is all upper body height and has to twist his head to get into vehicules. Course for those of us that are not that tall you feal like a kid again in his modified seat.
