I can't believe it
I was just at the local garbage dump and found what looks like a 56 GMC or so 4x4. It is hard to tell because it is upside down and crumpled. Looks like its about a 3 ton. It looks like it has the original chevy v8 because their are no side motor mounts. Just the front ones beside the timing cover. I think its a 4 speed maybe 5 and still has the transfer case in it. I can't believe someone would send it to the dump. Looks like some company did a clean up because their are a couple of old 4x4 snow plows from the 50's as well as an old Dodge Power Wagon.

That's too bad. Can you snag some parts off of it or does the dump frown on that?

Re: I can't believe it
I can take anything I want. Nobody there take or leave anything you want at this place. I'm going to grab the T-case and linkage for sure.

Re: I can't believe it
Get the front axle, should have NAPCO cast into the axle tube. That and the drivelines, transfer case and frame attachment, shift linkage are the parts you need. I think the rear axles had lift blocks. fender trim were part of the package too, but a lot of guys did not use them. v8 motor mounts are reproduced so not a big deal. GMC grille and parking light lenses are not reproduced either, lenses are very valuable.

Re: I can't believe it
Down here the scrappers would have snagged all of that stuff an cut it up and hauled it off.
