Modular Spindles - What are the advantages?

Looking at a drop kit for my GMC. While this is not going to be a rocketship (at first) .. it may get an LS2 (or comparable) at some point in it's life. It's just a stock 350 for now.

While I'm at it, I'm looking at big brakes, etc. What are the advantages / disadvantages to having modular spindles? Does it help with clearance issues? Does it put me in a situation where I can only use certain brake parts, etc? I want it to handle like a newer car / truck and stopping is important to me. I don't want to buy a stock conversion kit then wish I would have gotten the big brakes. I have matching Hellwig swaybars ready to go on it too. ..

I have dropped a bunch of cars / trucks .. but never using modulars. Help me out. Is it worth the added expense? What do I gain / lose?

thanks ..

Re: Modular Spindles - What are the advantages?

IMHO, CPP modular spindles made it easier for me to make my own big brake kit since it didn't have the caliper mounting ears to machine off. It also allowed me to use standard brake parts while I was putting the big brake kit together as funds became available. Post 5229 shows the brake kit I put together.
