Nice build. The plumbing to the inter-cooler and turbo is very clean.... sounds killer!

Re: '68 C10 Short-Step 6.0 + TT swap

Thought I would update some more!!! Got it to the track, video & info here:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=490917

Soooo, after all that, found plenty of kinks that needed work.

Steering was goofy, so replaced the steering box, pitman & idler arms. Just needs alignment now. Have finally given in to the fact that stiff 3" drop coils springs & stiff KYB shocks are not helpful in transferring weight to the rear...AT ALL. So, new coilovers are going in, along with alignment. SOME return to center would be so nice!

Cam that was in it was just something we had laying around, but no one knew how it would act (250/244 duration!), so why not. NOT turned out to be the ideal description. Got a custom cam spec's, and whole-E-sheet what a difference. It is stronger now on 9.5 psi than it was on 14 psi with the old cam! Limiting factors for both of those were the 80lb injectors.

So, cure that with a set of ID2000 injectors. I put her up on jackstands last night to start the install of the new pigtails and injectors, tie up all loose wiring & plumbing and install the transbrake switch.

Add all of those up, plus about 10 psi more boost, and it should be hella fun at the truck shootout on the 25th!

for the 6.0. Seems my desire to go faster was greater than the desire of the 6.0 to stay intact!

Went to the track, ran 130 mph outta the gate. That was about 8 mph better than the last setup. Was still sorting the suspension, and it was breaking loose in the 60'. Best 60' was only a 1.7, so there should be at least a 1.4 in it with more time to adjust.

Kept adding boost, went a best of 141 mph, spinning. Every run was spinning, but kept picking up speed. Ran a best of 10.3, which was a full second better than the first time out. MPH indicates it was capable of a 9 second pass, with traction issues solved.

Last pass of the day was the 141 pass, and found out a dirty secret about Vic Jr. intakes & cylinder distribution at higher boost levels. Needless to say, that run was it's last as a 6.0.

Fast forward to today, and I decided to push a 5.3 to it's limits. Stock 160,xxx mile pullout, only with gapped rings, ARP rod bolts & double roller timing chain is the setup with my old 317 heads. Stock block, rods, pistons, stock GM cam, TBSS intake.

Currently on 16 PSI, and tweaking on the truck. Put a bed floor in it, some ballast in the rear, adjusting brakes, and adjusting rear suspension for street duty. New M&H's because the cords were showing on the last pass at the track.

All I can say right now is I am COMPLETELY impressed with this setup. I would be comfortable saying it has every bit of 600 rwhp, and everyone who rides in it claims more. A few blasts at 20 PSI were very, very, very strong.

Too bad about the 6.0. Sounds like the 5.3 will do the job in a pinch. Any track pictures or update pictures?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Ya, I was sick for the first month after the failure. Even put it up for sale. Glad the guy buying it decided against it at the last minute.

Thanks for all the compliments!

I would like to see more pics of that front suspension put together if you got them. How hard was it to do? Looks like a simple effective way to do the job.

Thanks everyone.

I am trying to get more pictures of the front setup, and I will start a new thread about it.
