'65 GMC Revival
Hey all-
Been a member a while, usually lurking because of my rotating projects. BUt I just acquired a '65 GMC Wideside from northern AZ, she has been sitting for a while, about 30 years, and after replacing: Master Cylinder Fuel Pump Water Pump Wires/plugs Ign Switch and other misc repair or replacment parts, she is ready to hit the road again, used to be a camper truck, so it's missing it's tailgate, but working on that, I love getting old trucks back on the road, I'm up to 5 so far...Figured you guys would appreciate this |

Re: '65 GMC Revival
Many 3/4 tons were. The under 30 set probably aren't aware there was a pickup camper boom from the mid 60's to mid 70's. The tell tale signs are the extra gas tank doors on bed, hooks on bed and large west coast type mirrors and also they are found in cleaner condition than 3/4 tons bought for work. Yours looks like it has the period 16.5" 1 piece wheels. Nice thing about those 16.5" wheels, they have clips for hubcaps. Your tailgate was probably someones mint original paint early take off score at a garage sale. Truck should have great patina when the primer wears completely off.
