A few pics from my favorite local junkyard!

I went up to my favorite local yard yesterday and snapped a few pics with my phone. I've been going here since I was 15 and in Feb. I'll be 45 so I've spent alot of happy hours there.

Looks like a nice spot. Did they sell off most of there stock in the past few years when the scrap price went way up? Thats what happened up here in michigan. The old yards around me would hang on to stuff forever because scrap was low. You could take parts off for years. Now all the old heavy stuff is gone. Now mostly new model crap.

Nice pictures!

I know a guy with a junk yard with over 8,000 cars. When the crusher guys try to get him to hire them he tells them "Go crush everyone else's stuff so everyone will come to me for old car parts". He's a wise man who's happy with the money he's been making all his life before Chinese demand drove the value of scrap higher. You see,the price of old car parts has also gone up quite a bit in later years.

He doesn't haul the old stuff for scrap. He still has alot of the old ones that have been there since I started going, or atleast parts of them! He still has the 64 Belair that I got a powerglide out of for my 64 Impala when I was 18!
