Got a FREE '72 big block custom deluxe(pics)!

Well, looks like im gonna be joining this side of the forum, as ive always wanted to.
Today my neighbor that knows i like old chevy trucks( i got like 8 laying in back of my lot) approached me about hauling off his old chevy.I instantly told him ok.

Went today and he has a signed clear title that he was the ORIGINAL OWNER of.he parked it 10 years ago but started it every 8 months or so he said.

its a 1972 c20 longbed with a factory big block and air conditioning.Automatic.

the entire truck is rot free except for the driver side rocker.Which he included a brand new rocker and inner rocker to replace it with.
As well as a brand new fender! and really nice condition door panels!

The truck is 95% complete.Everything was removed as he was getting ready for paint at the time.everything is in the bed PLUS a lot more.Half of another truck back there haha.
I couldnt believe he just gave it to me..

I want to convert it over to 5 lug half ton and make it a shortbed and lower it down a descent amount. And of course, fix it up quite a bit.
shortbed with 1/2 ton 5 lug and a big block with ac? yea yea!

it sure isnt the best looker as it sits..ha

Thats odd paint prep disassembly. It looks like he was thinking about parting it out. Nice score, it looks like it should go back together pretty easily.

Re: Got a FREE '72 big block custom deluxe(pics)!

Thanks! I can see potential in anything.can sometimes he a bad thing! Haha.

My plans are to make it a shortbed 1/2 ton 5 lug and lower it 5/7 or 6/8 around that range for the time.and get it all painted up and put together again.

The only reason I think it was paint prep is there was a ton of sand paper, steel wool, scouring pads, primer, tape and paper etc in the cab.as well as an empty spray gun box.the fender was removed cause it had a dent and the new one was included.

Oh well, looks like I got a 5th project to do now.haha
