Thanks! I do get a lot of questions where ever I go, I usually have a hard time escaping a gas station! Its a lot of fun. I could have sold it a thousand times since I built it. I should have gone into bussiness building them. Thanks again! Aaron

You didn't say which weekend...

Here are a couple shots of our first camping trip the weekend after we bought the truck in Nov., 1969 (ignore picture date). Pictures were taken near Big Bear Lake in the mountains out of San Bernardino, CA. Still have both the truck and camper.

Very cool! I used to go camping at Big Bear when I was a kid, between 68 and 74, my grand parents had a dinky little cabin up there. We used to go to a restaurant on the lake, there was a store and a pool right there that the hippies took over. We would go there two or three times a summer.

What do the truck and camper look like now? Do you have any current photos of them? It would be cool to see how they aged!

I'm in the process of a frame-off on the truck. The camper is close to mint. I'll attach a couple pictures just before I started the restoration. The camper is covered with a blue tarp in the background of one of the pictures. No recent outside shots. I have a couple of the camper interior but can't find them at the moment.

That is so cool! It's awesome to see someone keep a truck AND camper for 40 years! It still looks great! I got my 69 from my grandfather who bought it new. I always wanted it and told him so every time I visited, 25 years ago he handed me the keys. Can't wait to see the camper, it's nice you took such great care of both!

One shot of the camper interior taken a couple years ago. Typical 1969 decor.

BEAUTIFUL! Looks more like after restoration pics. The buckets & console are sharp too.

How does that toilet seat attach to the bumper? That is really slick idea. I am tired of squatting over the hole, as it is getting harder for me to get up from a position like that.

[Edit] Oh I see, it is in the receiver hitch.

Thanks! I designed and built it from scratch. Way cheaper and much nicer than you can buy. It's self contained except for a toilet! I think I have about $1500 in it.

I see you're from Garden Grove. The camper was made by a company (Four Winds) in Garden Grove. I believe they went out of business in the early 70s.

Yep I lived here all my life. 28 years now. But never really liked it here. To much out here for me. Looking to live somewhere with some acres.

Pretty much why we moved back to Wisconsin from Fullerton. So.Cal. is a nice area, just too many people for me... even in 1970.

I will never leave cali. Just want to move where there is alil more rural land. I can't wait the get my c10 on the road so I can camp in the Sequoia National forest. Love that place. Now that would be my dream to live out that way. Mariposa is Beautiful camping grounds too by the Merced river
