Chris' 1950 3600 build thread
I've been wandering around this site for a while and I've now decided to start on my 1950 3600 5 window. The guy who owned it before me was "old school" body guy and put fiberglass everywhere!! He restored the floorboards and just put a piece of 16 gauge and tacked it in and fiberglassed over it. I might just cut it all out and start from scratch. Anyway, the truck is solid as a rock so not much is needed more than some minor body work. I've swapped the cab onto a 94 S10 frame. From what I've been told its easier to bag an S10 rather than going the IFS route due to building it on a budget. I'm going to shorten the S10 frame and bed to convert it to a SWB because of personal preference. I've gotta figure out my cab mounts because of the wheels I'm planning on running. I'm wanting to run a 24" wheel because I'm really into custom trucks and I like doing things different. Please, before commenting on my post.. If you dont like it, you dont have to. This is my truck and I would appreciate you keeping all negative comments to yourself. Regardless of what you may think, I'm building this truck the way I want. If it cant be done, then that's one thing, but If you dont like it then it is what it is. I appreciate everyone reading this and all the help I can get.
That being said, the coils and shocks have been removed on the front and I've tacked the cups/bags in place just for now. I'm waiting on my next check to get my control arms and I'll attempt to make my own 4-link. As I said above, I appreciate any and all help I can get on my cab mounts. I'm sure I'll end up stretching the fenders roughly 3". Thanks guys!!

Re: Chris' 1950 3600 build thread
Good luck on your build and it's good that you post a lot of pics. I really haven't seen any negative comments on someones build just good suggestion or kudo's here. And if you get them ignore them cause your building your truck for you if you like big rims and bags that your taste do it. I am always learning from the the guy's here and always give credit to those that go out of their way to help. It is a hobbie for me not a competion after I finish it I usually sell it and start another project anyway. Once again welcome!

Re: Chris' 1950 3600 build thread
Thanks Rude Dude, I just wanted to make it clear in a tasteful way. I've had alot of old school rodders tell me the whole "its a classic, dont screw it up", but I'm just wanting to do something that's different besides the 18/20, 20's, or 20/22 combos that's been done on every 47-53 I've ever seen. I respect everyone's vision for their trucks regardless of my thoughts and I just wanted to make sure mine was done the same way. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and hopefully I'll be able to get some good advice here!

Re: Chris' 1950 3600 build thread
Well, the wife asked me today "what would you like for Father's Day"?? Lol Praise God, I might get my control arms and spindals earlier than I thought. No progress this weekend. We've had a ton of rain so I decided to spend the weekend with the family. Will keep you posted!
