Looking for more info or input on Solid Axle swapping a '91 pickup?
So I am in the process of slowly working on doing a solid axle swap the right way on a '91 ext. cab short box pickup. The truck already had all the ifs front end stuff cut out by my buddy who started the project and never finished it. He put a 1/2 chevy front axle in that's getting yanked. I am hunting for a high pinion ford 44 or 60 for the front. I have a 14bolt full floater I put under the back and clocked it up a little bit for better drive line angle. I am looking at doing a shackle flip lift on the back on top of 4" blocks and 1 ton leaf springs, good idea bad idea any input? The end goal is around 6"-8" of lift and atleast 36" tires or bigger. I have been doing a lot of reading on these kinds of builds. Basically just looking for some input on mine from anybody who has done one or is working on one. Or for some links to builds. Sorry for the long winded post. Thanks in advance

Re: Looking for more info or input on Solid Axle swapping a '91 pickup?
shackle flipping will point your rear pinion even further up.
find an 90-91 k5 or burb with the passenger drop np241. those have vss like you have and will work with an easier to find chevrolet axle. |
