Re: weights on front drum and hub question

The weight is there to balance the drum. It got balanced before it got put on the hub. Those drum's have got to be shot by now unless low mile's.

Re: weights on front drum and hub question

i just talked to 2 brake shops and said there are very turnable. not sure on the mileage but they still look fairly thick with next to no ridge. i hear the new ones aren't as good as the originals so i would rather use these. so i can remove them without a problem then. Thanks.

should these be left together? is there a reason gm did this? maby to make sure when you checked your front brakes you had to check your bearings at the same time. just for maintenance?

Yeah don't remove them from the hub.. I just had mine surfaced last year and I was told to bring them in with the hub.
