ok so im pretty sure ive seen this somewhere but i cant find it and want to know some input on it.. putting a dana 60 in my 71, someone scrapped the awesome factory u bolt plates for my 60 from the shop so im gonna have to build new ones anyway.. and buy new u bolts which is kinda hard to do around here unless you special order a u bolt that $25 each at least.. anyways what im looking to do i basically make a clamp out of 3/8" plate using 4 bolts per side.. its kinda hard to explain but i have it in my head how i want to do it.. and i made a handy picture in paint to help explain what im trying to do.. any input will be appriciated, thanks

Scratch that idea... Was easy in theroy... I'm just gonna buy u bolts and not mess with it.. U bolts work why try and change it.. Wouldn't ever work on passenger side anyways because of cast housing.. Mods you can delete if you'd like
