Rear brake light not working

Maybe you guys can figure this out cuz i'm burn't!! turn signals work, running light work but drivers side brake light not working. i'm thinking ground wire but no luck.

Maybe a bad connection from brakesensore to that side

The tail light grounding for these trucks was weak when they were brand new, depending on contact from the tail light housing and sheetmetal. After 50 years it's down right terrible. To ensure a proper ground run a high gauge ground wire directly from the tail light housing to a clean bare grounding point on the frame of the truck. That will eliminate any possible ground issue from the tail lights themselves and should take care of the issue. If not, you will have at least eliminated one major variable.

yeah i did that and eveything seem to work after i change the turn signal switch, maybe thats taking a crap again.

I'll have to look for it again, but there is a GM turn signal switch that is still available for these trucks. The cheap Autozone and other switches are complete crap and the contacts burn out quickly.

If everything else works nornally, doubtful is is a ground or bulb. Sounds like the T/S switch is the problem. it's not the wiring,since the other functions on the same wire work(the turn signal).

Luv the healer in the pic,mine is 8 and still crazy.!!Best dogs ever.!!There should be a plug on the inside firewall just above the trans tunnel(three wire plug).If you have a meter check it there first and then chase it from there.

I had a broken ground on one tail light and it caused be all kinda issues with the rear lights.

Yeah "BO" the heeler is a friggin nut job!!! always wants to work, and if there's no work he make work. he will grab a 2x4 and start chewing on it or go tear some twiggs off the tree and chew them in little pieces. but a great dog. I checked the firewall plug everythings good i think it's gonna lead to the turn signal switch.
