hey guys, i dont know how to adjust my propane flow...i guess you could call it that, i get real poor mileage and it smells a lot when the truck is running but it isnt driving, is there an adjustment screw somewhere like on a carb? im getting 8 miles to the gallon and that sucks

just got in from checking my plugs, there was no grunge or oily residue on them, but they had some weird crusty whitish build up on them, nothing really where they spark but more at the base of the electrode...what is this from?

Grab any Haynes Manual and in the back it will have a spark plug troubleshooting page with pics of various deposits. Really handy. I don't have mine in front of me but it sounds normal.

Plugs sound pretty normal. Where are you getting the smell from? The exhaust from an engine running on propane smells different than one running on gas. Since you will get 20 to 30% worse mpg on propane than you will on gas your mpg sounds about right to me. The "correct" way to adjust propane systems is with a sniffer in the tail pipe, but you can cheat on something run outside. Post a picture of your propane system.

Here in the 'peg - 98% of cabbies run on propane. I'd stop in at an out-of-the-way shop that caters to the cabbies in your area. They'll know exactly how to tune it & probally cheaply too.
