Re: Catalitic coverter?

I would search walker they make alot of aftermarket exhausts and parts and would prolly have the cat legal for CA.. they are sold in alot of auto parts stores.. also check the local chain auto parts places

Re: Catalitic coverter?

The clowns that do emmission testing here in CA wouldn't know the difference between a California-approved cat and a non-approved Cat if their life depended on it. All they want to see is a Cat installed in place and they're happy. It could be hollowed out for all they know.

HaHa! funny! the ones I see on eBay are cheap, only difference I see is they have some tube coming off them? be nice to save some coins! 65 bucks and free shipping! every time I get the truck smogged here ,every other year,it pass's great ,the guy all ways says, dam! that truck runs great and is below the emission specs! I just hate the rattling sound coming from it!

Re: Catalitic coverter?

Get a universal one from Catco. www.summitracing.com. I have one on my 96 Jimmy. Works great. Sound is good. Exhaust flow is good too!

I use this one: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CTO-6904/

Re: Catalitic coverter?

Summit will not ship an non-approved catalytic converter to Cali. It is not that all those cats won't work, it is that they have not been through CARB certification.

Re: Catalitic coverter?

All you guys in Cali need to check your local muffler shops, they would have all the correct cats and installation, most of the time cheaper prices altogether
