Alternative fix for vaccum and air pressure plumbing.

I made this setup for Shawno72 and will try and explain how I did it and what parts were used. I hope some of you can get some use out of this method. Shawn was missing the nut that mounted the gauge to the tin and most of you know it is a thin type nut like an oil pressure gauge but it is fine thread. I determined that is 1/8 27 NPT thread which is pipe thread. This is how I fixed this problem. Go to any of you local hardware stores and purchase a 1/4" MIP x 1/8" FIP pipe hex bushing. I put the bushing in a vise and used a 3/8 drill bit and from the opposite side of the nut (nut side in the vise) drilled about 3/4 of the way down into the bushing because the bushing is tapered. Step 2 flip the bushing over in the vise and use a 1/8 x 27 NPT pipe tap and tap the inside of the bushing all the way through. This bushing then will thread onto the vac/air pressure gauge all the way down to mount the gauge to the tin. Then I used a 1/4" barb x 1/4" FIP nipple and most refer to this as a (king nipple) this will allow you to slide your rubber hose onto the nipple and it will self fasten or use a hose clamp for more insurance. This method is modern and will allow you to go to any local hardware store and buy any fitting you desire and you can hard pipe it with tubing or use rubber hose. All of the drilling and taping was done because Shawn did not have a nut to fasten his gauge to the tin.
