Exclamation A/C Blower Motor

My blower motor in my '87 has been acting up recently. I turn on A/C, and it's like a roll of the dice. Sometimes it turns on normally, and other times it takes a long time before it kicks in. A/C compressor works fine. Any input will help, thanks.

Re: A/C Blower Motor

really, the motor should work/ or not work.
check the way it gets power..
either the switch or the high fan relay connections or the parts themselves...

on mine i have to wiggle the switch every once in a while!

Re: A/C Blower Motor

Thanks for the help. I went to check it out, I coincidentally tapped on the blower and it lost power. Something was loose internally, so I just ahead and ordered an AC Delco from Amazon. Hasn't stopped working since!

Re: A/C Blower Motor

Did you check the resistor? It has a tendancy to rust due to moister. I can cause problems with speeds and use.

Don't forget the little hose that keeps the blower motor cool, or you'll burn it up. Don't ask how I know!

Re: A/C Blower Motor

a little added FYI , in case anyone cares....

I was having some issues with my A/C blowing air, and found out that I had a bad fan speed switch. It acted much like if the blower motor was going out, I knew it wasn't the blower motor, because I had just replaced it months before.
