Need to ship a truck from Fort Smith,Ark. to Austin,Tx

I found another truck I want but I need help finding a way to ship it to me.I think this would be cheaper than me having to rent a truck and go get it.Any help in locating a mover would be appreciated. Also this the seller does not have the title but said the previous owner has it but can't find it.What do I need to do to get the lost title?Any help would be great. Thanks,be good

I would make sure I got a title before I paid for the truck or transport.IIRC a replacement for a lost title cost me $10 several years ago(in Tx).It's nt a long way but will probably cost you $300-400.

getting a title in arkansas for one that lost the title is like pulling teeth. if the last registered owner has the registration he can file for the title, other than that it makes it difficult. find nbdr007 on the board, tim lives in new blaine and buys trucks regularly, he knows what to do about lost titles in arkansas. he is a friend of mine so you could go through my profile for the link

Re: Need to ship a truck from Fort Smith,Ark. to Austin,Tx

I would try to get the title from the last owner before exchanging any money but then again I don't know TX law. some states it is a real pain and others it is pretty effortless to get a title.

We do a "title 42" really it is a mechanics lein. Do a title search, vin search, Send the last registered owner and other interested parties a certified letter stating what you have invested in the vehicle and if they want to pay for it well then they can pay you to get it back. This is why you document every part bought for it, Transport, every hour of labor at $75, storage at $15 a day, etc. I racked up over 10 grand on my 67 before I filed the papers. Paid a title specialist $60 to do it for me. Not sure about Tex but I have done it a few times here in OK.

Hope you find a good way to transport it home, you can never have too many!
