Stock wheels on disc brakes
I have just purchased a 66' c-10 that has the CPP disc brake kit installed with a 2 1/2 dropped spindle and tie rod adapter sleeve. The truck has 6 bolt rally wheels on it now. Will the stock 6 lug 15x5.5 steel wheels fit the disc brakes? I don't have one to try it yet, but I'm sure you guys will know before I buy one to try. If not, is there a stock wheel that will take the 1/2 ton stock hubcap that will fit the 6 lug disc brake setup?
thanks in advance,

Re: Stock wheels on disc brakes
congrats on your 66. already haveing disc brakes is a big plus for your truck.
stock drum 66 steel rims rub on the caliper. they wont fit the front. you need 74-87 k5 blazer or 4x4 truck steel rims . these are the steel wheels you need.they have different design on inside of rim allowing more room for brake and stearing and suspension parts. they have the nubs on them so you can use 66 stock hubcaps, too. hth also do a search in the suspension section for this topic. lots of info. others will chime in too on this as it is popular topic. paul |

Re: Stock wheels on disc brakes
I believe 71 (vice 74)-87 K10 will fit since Disks came out in 71 as an option. Truck wheels have to be off a K10 only (or a blazer as mentioned) to be 6 lug.
They may take a little while to find, but worth the wait, as the steelies look great and they will clear the calipers. Check out the parts board on here in both the 67-72 and 73+ sections. |

Re: Stock wheels on disc brakes
found some 6 lugs 15x8 on ebay. would look pretty sweet with 8s in the back and 6s in the front

Re: Stock wheels on disc brakes
Thanks, I'll start looking around and beating the bushes for them. I want the 15x6 wheels and would trade my 15x7 ralleys.
