Starter help

So I'm on my 5 th? Starter in 4 months! I got it from orieleys ,luckily I have the lifetime warranty.but I'm fed up with having to change it soo much! What starter are you guys using? I have a 350/350 with staggered mounted starter,i searched and saw many complaints about orieleys starters ,so I'm hoping the one I get today is my last,because I'm gonna order one based on your suggestions. Thanks for any help

Couple thoughts!!
Are you using the factory knurled shank bolts to bolt it on with and a brace to help hold up the backend?

Yes on the bolts,no brace. Never had a brace

So what exactly is it doing?
Are you replacing the complete starter and solenoid or just the starter.
I've seen a couple bad starters in a row but not 5 of them.

could be low voltage or bad engine ground either one heats up a starter really fast and they wont last long make sure you have a large gauge positive and ground cable i always use the 2/0 cables the little 4/0 cables just cant handle the higher amperage's of these older starter designs

Good thinking ,I'll check the ground strap to the engine! Haven't thought of that yet.i noticed I have a slight rear main seal leak and it drips to the starter. Not much oil, but could that be a cause of the starters failing too? The problem I've been having is the starters nagged perfectly for a certain amount of time then they start to grind on the flywheel. New flywheel 2 starters ago because I wanted to be sure that wasn't the problem

When you replaced starters and flexplate did you gauge the clearance between them...?
