The video is called “next engine 3d scanner at jay leno’s garage”
He wants people to see the equipment they used to get these measurements.

Looking at the spreadsheet, it gives the move out/in in relation to whatever you have and what you're going to.

So yes, it states the move in/out in relation to going from drums to discs.

This thread is in response to a question that has left some confused.
The discussion is in regards to wheels being moved out when converting to disc brakes.
(TrackWidth / Offset)

There's threads and posts scattered through the forums that talk about their wheels being moved outward when converting to discs, or going to drop spindles.
This can be a problem if you are running wide tires, or you just don't want to see you front wheels farther apart over stock drums.

Cpp advertises that their Modular Spindles will Not move your wheels out.
Some have said they move your wheels in.

So the question that we were trying to tag down is:

In relation to what?

'They move your wheels in as in relation to drums, discs, or other brand drop spindles?

Jeff provided the spreadsheet above, and chevy_mike has converted it to pdf that can be read with a simple free pdf reader such as adobe acrobat pdf reader.

Now we want user experiences from those who made such conversions either from drums to discs, or discs to drop spindles, or from another brand than Cpp.

I'll start by adding chevy_mike's:

Yes, the extra .5" of drop would definitely run into issues with clearance.

In the 'Changes in Wheel Location' chart above, it states that the CP4S4-1 should only move my wheels out 1/16"

I really need to take the wheel off a 3rd time and check those measurements again.
Because according to my measurements, it really does look to move my wheels out atleast 3/8 per side.

Doing the best I can, I get 6" from center of upper balljoint to WMS.

For the discs I get about 5" from center of upper balljoint to outer edge of rotor.

.
And then another 1-1/2" from outer edge of rotor to WMS.
.



It wouldn't be the rotor itself, could it?

I had a chance to triple check my measurements.
This time I ran a straight edge across the wheel and took a measurement to center of upper ball joint. I am absolutely positive the CP4S4-1 moves my wheel out at least 3/8 of an inch, and more than likely 5/8" out.

Although this is contrary to the spreadsheet Jeff provided above, others have posted from hands on experience that converting from drums to discs with even Cpp's drop spindles will move your wheels out. Most have said they saw an increase of around 3/4" per side.

However;
Those who have converting from drums to discs with Cpp's Modulars say they didn't notice an increase in track width.
