Lug Pattern
If im not mistaken the lug pattern on 71 & 72 halfton pickups is 5 lug on a 5 inch bolt circle ? Has anyone ever redrilled the front hubs and rotors and the rear axles and drums for a 5 on 4 3/4 lug pattern like a Chevrolet passenger car? Can it be done?

You are correct it is 5 on 5" and you can re-drill them to pretty much any size but many machine shops (around here anyway) wont do the work due to liability issues. You will need to check the hub diameter also as these trucks have a larger hub that may need to be turned down to accept a 4.75 car pattern hub hole wheels.

there is a guy on the h.a.m.b msg board that sells fixture for about 90.00 bucks to do your own re-drilling. if that helps any.

Thanks guys , Im thinking about selling my 57 halfton and getting a 69 to 72 halfton short bed either a 4x4 or 2 wheel drive. If I get a 71 or 72 2 wheel drive I have a set of 8 1/2 x 15 vintage American mags I would like run on it.

I'm sorry to hi-jack your post, but I have a lug related question and just happen to see your post and thought I would add to this discussion rather than start a new thread.
I have a 68 C10. I expected to have 5x5 or 5x127 based on the following chart. http://www.vehicle-bolt-pattern.com/...nce-guide.html When I pulled the hub caps I found a 6-lug pattern (front and rear). I didn't measure yet, but I assume a 6x139.7 based on the same chart. I believe my truck to be original (grandpas truck been in the family it's whole life). Might this have something to do with the "HD REAR SPRING" on the service parts identification tag? Can anyone shed some light on this for me?  Thanks,

All 67-70 Chevy trucks came with a 6 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern.In 1971 they changed to disc brakes and a 5 on 5 lug pattern,except for 4X4 and some f the larger trucks.There were many wheel options in both patterns.
