I thought the damper was on the output shaft

Amsoil Synthetic Manual Transmission and Transaxle Gear Lube, stock number MTGQT it was designed to meet NV4500 specs also.

It was not in the list of approved lubricants.

In 1996 the GM bell housing to transmission bolt pattern changed to be the same as the Dodges. You can not mix and match older trans and newer bell housings
