Great truck! Our trucks were built to last and before planed obsolescence was the norm. Have fun with your new toy! Enjoy&drive the wheels off it! Cheers, Pat

YOU PAID $5,000. FOR THAT?
If it's half as nice as the pictures show, you got a smoking deal!

Re: my 72 c-10

Thanks for the kind replys. The po put $10,000 into it eight years ago. I dont know much about paint, but to me it looks like it was painted yesterday. Must be good paint. The grill is dinged up a bit, and the body seems are far from perfect, but it is solid. No rotten spots on it. My neighbor is a huge car show guy and he couldn't believe it was only five grand . Classics definitely took a big hit with the economy. This was a $10000 pickup not long ago.

Very nice. I've got more than 5000 in mine already and it doesn't look nearly as good as yours.

Re: my 72 c-10

I hear what your saying. My 68 runs and drive, but it needs a whole new body. My 71 needs everything. Maybe someday i will get something done with those two, but for now, this custom deluxe 72 is perfect for me. It was so fun hitting the freeway at 75 mph with the pipes rapping.

Re: my 72 c-10

nice truck! I'm curious what your fender emblems are, specifically the centered one under the Custom 10 nameplate? Just curious - if a Custom Deluxe, your white door panels and tilt prompt a second question - is this a Highlander? (i.e. anything on the SPID about "Special Promo..." or something like that? If yes, this would be a Highlander B option. Just curious, doesn't matter either way - it's a very cool truck and you got a great deal - congrats!

Re: my 72 c-10

Wow very nice ride indeed, and yes with a good solid suspension these trucks have a awesome ride. Mine rides as nice as any truck of 87 down and even some of the newer style suspensions do. I just wish it got the same mpg lol

Re: my 72 c-10

Thanks for posting the SPID. VERY interesting - if you might recall, there was a long discussion on here the other day about the possibility of ordering a plaid seat WITHOUT ordering the Highlander option. Then again, did ordering all the Highlander stuff get one a defacto Highlander even if Special Promo was not on the SPID (your case)? Perhaps. But yours even has the Deluxe Wheel Covers which were normally associated with a Highlander. Your truck is very unique and quite the conversation piece I'd say. Any other original documentation with it? Would be very lucky if it came with it, but cool.

Very interesting SPID - white over ochre with gray plaid seat and white door panels - yet no Special Promo code. That is one COOL truck you have there. And I'd take a wild guess that when it was repainted, 69/70 front fenders were installed due to the centered Deluxe tag. Usually, a centered one might indicate someone imitating a Deluxe on earlier fenders, but the SPID doesn't lie, you definitely have a Custom Deluxe. Only reason I'm guessing the fenders might be a swap is that factory location for a Deluxe nameplate (or Super nameplate) was left justified with the Custom or Cheyenne in 71/72. Engine nameplate if 350 or 400 was centered in 69/70 in this location.

Very cool truck with very cool original options ordered on it you have there. She's a keeper! Looks real nice.

EDIT: You should take a peek under that seat cover and see what's there...

Nice catch jocko! It is a Highlander, gray plaid trim truck and your favorite colors to. Nothing listing a promo package but it has all the right equipment. Guessing that fender was replaced by the "deluxe" location. Long ways from "as built" but it does look nice!

And to clarify we established that the Highlander trim option and the Highlander promo packages were in fact seperate RPOs. The PA1 wheelcovers are listed as available on C10s without restriction but were part of the promo packages.
