Windshield washer not spraying?
Hey everyone! This doesn't bother me too much but when I need my windshield washed, the washer aint spraying washer fluid! I checked the hose and blew air through it, I can feel it coming out the other side so it's not clogged with dirt. The washer fluid is obviously full, and when I turn it on I can hear a little clicking sound... just nothing comes out! Anyone have ideas?
Should I get a new washer pump? Thanks

Re: Windshield washer not spraying?
Sounds like it is either the pump or the relay.

Re: Windshield washer not spraying?
A "little" sound like a relay or a KaThunk like the pump kicked in but ain't a pumping? Mine had the Ka-thunk and I replaced the pump with one from Brothers.

Re: Windshield washer not spraying?
did the other pump fix the problem? I have had to replace the pump on much newer vehicles, a 2000 blazer, and my 70 year old Mom's car, a 1984 trans am, on both I could see the alternator volt gauge drop, I could tell it was the pump. I hope this info helps a little.

Re: Windshield washer not spraying?
All you need to do is to prime it up most likely. Take cap off and turn upside down. Attach a small funnel to it and fill with water, then work the pump. In no time at all, it should suck the water in and start to spray. Then just remove the funnel and put the cap back in.
As long as the clicking sound is there, that shows the pump is engaging. Other than the above, you can buy new O rings that go in where the hoses attach but try priming first.
