454 Tbi sensor???

Ok so I had a crazy high idle when I got the truck. Found out a plug on the back of the throttle body was unplugged. Plugged it in idle dropped back down to normal. But it would kinda stumble every now and again at idle. It runs great otherwise Which sensor could be causing this?

Which sensors are which on the throttle body? Where's the map sensor? And what's the thing between the radiator and throttle body that has a little cilinder shaped filter in it?

This is an 89 v3500 with 454 tbi and 4 speed

Re: 454 Tbi sensor???

Does anyone have a picture where they can point out each one. My factory service manual I got off eBay isnt here yet and I wanna get a jump start on this and see if I can fix the stumbling idle.

Also yesterday at startup it didn't like the fact it was a 100 degrees outside. It kept acting like a carb motor on a cold morning. I would assume this would be the map sensor after reading descriptions and symptoms of sensors online.

Re: 454 Tbi sensor???

Ok I found the map sensor. It's plugged in but while searching for it I found another thing unplugged. Bare with me on the description. There is a 1 in diameter hose running from the air cleaner into it on the passenger side of the engine. The sensor is at the front of the engine on the passenger side near the belts of the truck. It has a second hose coming out of it I didn't trace where it goes. I did take a picture but can't upload them from my phone.

Also on the passenger side of the engine on the firewall was a sensor or some sort. Has plugs from the harness in the bottom of it and right next to it I found an empty spot and 3 plugs just dangling there. There is only enough length in those plugs to reach that empty spot and non of them would plug into each other as their all different shapes. I have a pic of it too but can't upload from my phone.

Thanks again

Larry
