Re: Hickie hoods

Here is one I spotted a couple years ago in Sioux Falls, SD at a Menards. I left a note and he called me back! Story goes a local dealer saw these hoods at the SEMA show and ordered one, installed on this truck as a dealer option. I wanted it BAD for the rarity. Good guy that owned it- think he lurks here on the board now and then.

Re: Hickie hoods

I'm betting Vic Hickey did not distribute the 67-72 style hood..my guess is they were made by another company and hickey bought the rights to them around the change in body style and the decision was made to only carry the 73 up style hood. From everthing I can find the 73 style is the only one Hickey ever sold..and I dont find any pics of him using this hood on any of his pre 73 race trucks.

That might be the chain of events. There was/is a lot of fiberglass "cottage industry" out here. Still think that a WTB ad on CL in the Ventura area might shake a hood or info loose. If you are really lucky maybe even the molds.

Re: Hickie hoods

Interesting stuff here, so what other things did Hickie make for our trucks?
